Context

The Leisure Walking Systems Working Group looks to form a network of parties interested in leisure walking applications and data.

The Leisure Walking Systems Working Group (LWSWG) will meet to further discuss and understand the barriers and benefits of a walking route recommender based on open and public sector datasets. Seeking to draw group members from private, public, and third sector organisations to form a new understanding of leisure walking applications and applicable challenges.

The LWSWG seeks to share the results of the PhD project A Framework for Curating Personalised Leisure Walking Experiences with a wider audience. The purpose of the LWSWG project is to understand if interest exists in forming a working group for interoperable representations within leisure walking applications.

Project Overview

The LWSWG is founded from the Horizon CDT Impact Grant based on the work conducted during the PhD Study. The impact grant is being used to organise an initial series of meetings for the potential formation of a working group. The group will allow time to analyse and understand the outcomes of the PhD study and feed lessons learnt technical development in leisure walking systems.

The project works towards understanding if a LWSWG is needed, and the potential impact of forming this group.

Current Progress

The project is working towards the following outcomes:
