Project Overview
The Newman Active Travel Network (NATN) is a collaborative initiative funded by the Student-Staff Partnership Programme at Birmingham Newman University. The project aims to develop a digital platform that encourages and facilitates active travel (walking and cycling) for students and staff.
Collaborative Mapping
The project involved students and staff working together to identify and map safe, accessible, and enjoyable routes to and from the university campus. The resulting network serves as a resource for the entire university community.
WebGIS Platform
A custom WebGIS platform was developed to host the network data, allowing users to explore routes, view points of interest, and contribute feedback on travel experiences.
